Yay! He's Back!

You know you're in love when you recognize his merest spoken phrase...the lilt of his voice sending you bolt upright on the couch as you exclaim, "That's Iain Stewart!"

And so, Dan and I watched Earth: the Biography last night.

We like science shows and had in fact just finished another episode of Planet Earth. There is no denying that Planet Earth is a lovely series. We've found ourselves saying quite frequently, "Wow...how long did they have to wait to get that shot?" But it's dissatisfying in the sense that as the one hour the program airs (we are watching it recorded on his dvr), there are at least four pitches to buy the DVDs, in addition to the regular commercials. And so while it's beautiful, I have no idea whether I actually enjoy it as the frequent commercial breaks are irritating.

Not so with Earth: the Biography. It too is in HD and has some lovely scenes. And of course, one can never go wrong with a cute guy in a Scots accent telling you the whys and wherefores of what you're seeing. Without frequent commercial interruption.

Dan thought it was amusing to see me bounce with glee and repeat after Dr. Stewart whenever he said something particularly accented. By the end of the episode, I'd gotten him doing it, too.

=)
