That Settled Feeling...
...I almost haz it :)
There's still a couple of boxes hither and yon, and we have yet to figure out what to do with all the stuff Heather and Dan left (donation stuff, things she figured I could try to garage sell, etc) and all the empty boxes (most of which belong to Kevin and Candyce). Still, it's getting there!
Late, as usual, to the party I have only just started a Lady Eleanor shawl. Although most of the examples I've seen of Lady Eleanor feature yarns with long stretches of color (so that the blocks seem like patchwork), I love this blue-grey mix that reminds me of comfy blue jeans. And it knits up rather quickly, even if I did have to resort to several internet tutorials and the entrelac forums on Ravelry!Last night, Dan and I watched the second half of Metallica S&M, one of the birthday gifts his brother sent him. We'd watched the behind the scenes stuff on Monday night, but I was still feeling blech and so went to bed while Dan reveled in the first disc.
As you may know, I am not a Metallica person :) and so am completely unfamiliar with their music. This was quite a nice introduction, though, as the layers with the symphony and their electric whatsises was really nicely done.
To show my support for a musical genre loved by my son as well as my boyfriend, I mentioned that I know how to do those "devil horns" things with my fingers...and immediately presented a shaka. =/
Perhaps not a metal-head but an aloha-head. Oh, well.

I am a metal head and for some reason I throw the shaka too. Maybe I've been out of serious metal head too long?
Sounds more like you need a vacation to the Islands, girl!
=)
ah, now wouldn't that be nice. i only get two weeks at this place, a year and i made so many plans that i'm using it all quickly. i'm off to vegas starting saturday to hang with my sister for her 30th. long, much needed weekend. :)
I wasn't much of a metal head until I went to hear them at the Arena back home. Aside from the music being so loud I heard it two blocks away (fashionably late was I, what can I say?), they shook the ceiling loose. When the lights came up I saw the chunk of acoustic tile that had fallen. Heh.
Was fun backstage, too. The guys were pretty cool and the rest of us were pretty drunk.
